This paper presents a framework for solving the problematic of functional compatibility between process control devices in control centers of underground mines and operators’ capabilities. Equipment displaying current reading of all ventilation, gas and fire parameter and states of alarm-voice communication subsystem, display of early warnings and alarms for all parameters, recording of all current and alarm data, instant printing of alarm data and printing reports about processed data is shown in this paper. In order to perform an ergonomic analysis of a control panel we compared the parameters of existing panel with recommended values. The basic principles of ergonomic design of control panels and principals of arranging the controls and indicators as well as term of use, type of operation with these controls and operators’ viewing angles are also listed. Objective of this paper is to get more credible and humane design of new control panels, display boards and graphic screens and for reconstruction of existing one, all with purpose of normal and efficient functioning of control centers. Application of results of this research provides an optimal control of technological processes in coal mines to operators.
